About the Role: Part-Time Budtender

Wellness Connection of Maine is looking for a highly motivated, positive, and compassionate Budtender for our recreational cannabis store in South Portland. The Budtender is the welcoming face of Wellness Connection of Maine to our South Portland customers and oversees all aspects of the customer’s experience at our recreational cannabis store. The successful candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, a constant desire for self-improvement, and attention to details.

This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company from the ground up. Wellness Connection of Maine is a cannabis company operating in full compliance with state and local law. Our mission is to provide our customers with the highest quality cannabis at a reasonable cost to them, to support our customers’ full-spectrum wellness, and to foster education about cannabis throughout the state.

How you’ll make a difference:

The main responsibilities of the Budtender include interacting with, educating, and advising customers face-to-face and by the phone; assisting with inventory and cash management; and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility inside and out.

Skills to be Successful:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must at least 21 years of age
  • 2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred.
  • 2 + years’ experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry—hospitality and retail backgrounds preferred
  • Work history showing progressive responsibility as well as willingness to accept, lead and complete additional projects or challenges
  • Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems).
  • Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management
  • Familiarity with history and varieties of medical marijuana preferred but not required

Schedule:

  • 24 hours per week
  • 4, 6 hours shifts per week
  • Weekday/Weekend

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. The ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to 100 ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.
