Now Hiring Mission Systems Technician Background as an Electronic TechnicianTroubleshoot/diagnose/repair electronic components. Read / interpret assembly drawings/schematics. Experience with multi-meters/oscilloscopes/spectrum analyzers. Experience with Telemetry systems a plus. Must be able to obtain a class 3 flight physical.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Mission System (MS) TechnicianI.
POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent technician will maintain the mission systems on the USAF E-9A Aircraft. The primary mission systems are the Telemetry Relay System, Sea Surveillance Radar System, Drone Control & Relay System/Data Link System, UHF Relay System and the Flight Termination System. Incumbent will perform maintenance and repair of the E-9 Aircraft along with maintaining and completing necessary forms. The successful candidate for this position will have an Electronic Technician Certificate or equivalent. The incumbent reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and the Program Manager and interfaces with other support staff and subcontractor support personnel as required depending upon specific assignments.
II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Incumbent performs all mission systems maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives and company policies on the mission system equipment and components (Sea Surveillance Radar (SSR) and the Telemetry RelaySystem (TMRS)).
2. Incumbent inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service MS equipment associated with theE-9A aircraft.
3. Read and interpret MS maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
4. Examine and inspect MS components for cracks of breaks to wiring or other associated parts.
5. Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
6. Assemble and install components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
7. Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
8. Test system operations, using testing equipment to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
9. Service and maintain MS equipment by performing tasks associated with maintaining specific equipment.
10. Research technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks.
11. Keeps tools and support equipment in a safe and operational condition at all times.
12. Responsible for his/her assigned work area, shop or ramp, to insure that it is kept cleanand free of hazards.
13. Responsible for completion of all internal company forms, aircraft flight/maintenance log, work orders, and maintenance releases.
14. Other duties as assigned.
III. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Electronics Technician Certificate or equivalent required
3. Valid driver's license with good driving record
4. Candidates must meet one of the following minimum experience levels performing aircraft electronic systems intermediate or depot level maintenance:o Five (5) years of experience as a FAA certified repairman or equivalent oro Level 7 Air Force certification (or other service/civil service equivalent)o Experience maintaining current configuration of E-9 mission systems
IV. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Receives general supervision from immediate supervisor who provides task project assignments and training in routine and specific operations. Upon reaching minimum acceptable performance level, is expected to accomplish routine assigned task independently. Work is randomly checked by immediate supervisor for compliance with provided instructions. All Candidates Must be able to pass a background check.
