General Function:
Andrew College is seeking a Program Director of Elementary Education with the appropriate rank assigned per degree and experience for a newly created teaching position. The successful applicant is preferred have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in a field related to education with an emphasis toward elementary education and reading in a rural environment. This twelve-month position will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and organization of course content and student learning outcomes for new courses that will launch a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement. It is anticipated this individual will teach the first courses within this new area of concentration during the Spring 2021 semester. The successful applicant also must be willing to foster outreach partnerships and collaborative relationships with area educators, superintendents, local schools, and mutually supporting organizations as well as supervise clinical teaching experiences.
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree preferred in an education field with an emphasis toward elementary education and reading in a rural setting. The successful applicant must be eligible to teach in the United States. Must be authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States indefinitely with no immigration sponsorship needed.
Working Conditions:
Office and classroom environment with minimum lifting (25 pounds) required. Flexible teaching and office hours to include late afternoons and occasional Saturdays.
