DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead campus Student Success Team to ensure each student is getting individualized, holistic, and proactive support.
  • Provide campus-level management for student conduct, health and wellness, basic needs, residential life, and student life, while participating in the assessment of program strategies, initiatives, and campaigns.
  • Oversee operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives.
  • Participate as a member of the Student Affairs administrative team and work with peers and other campus departments for effective and efficient administration, including the effective use of technology platforms for enhancing involvement efforts.
  • Be responsible for handling campus-level student affairs staffing decisions, including personnel actions and discipline.
  • Operate as a visible leader, being present at student-related events to ensure that students feel comfortable approaching the Director of Student Affairs.
  • Serve as the campus' point of contact for crisis intervention with students; interfaces with the Dean of Students, Campus Safety, and local law enforcement regarding student/campus emergencies and complex student issues. Serves as the Dean of Students' campus-designee for addressing student deaths, parent/family needs, campus vigils, and other student-related concerns.
  • Assume a visible and genuine commitment to diversity, mutual respect, intellectual freedom, and university citizenship, and engage in collaborative initiatives to promote an inclusive and safe campus environment.
  • Compile data and prepare reports.
  • Participate in campus-wide research efforts to assess ways to enhance student success.
  • Present at various on and off campus events.
The ideal candidate for the Director of Student Affairs position will possess a Master's Degree in fields such as Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Education, or a closely related discipline, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within the realm of student affairs. Additionally, preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or Leadership.
