Ball State University has a full-time opportunity for a Parking Enforcement Officer Group Leader. This second shift position is scheduled for Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, and includes a second shift premium. Position Function

Serve as lead Parking Enforcement Officer in the ticketing of vehicles, provide customer service, conduct emergency phone checks on exterior emergency phone boxes, booting/towing and various errands; perform duties related to maintenance and repair of all parking meters; assist with traffic flow at university events.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Minimum Experience

1. Over one year of customer service experience.
2. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy.
3. Must be able to read and comprehend all University policies, procedures and communications.
4. Must be able to perform all mental and physical requirements as outlined in each job duty.
5. Must be 18 years or older.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Up to eighteen months of education beyond high school.

Preferred Experience

Additional years of customer service experience; possess basic automotive knowledge; ability to handle stressful situations.

Serve as lead Parking Enforcement Officer; perform data entry on portable electronic ticket writer for ticketing of vehicles that are in violation of Ball State University rules and regulations; coordinate booting and towing of vehicles; assist in providing training to new Parking Enforcement Officers and provide feedback in regard to ticket volume, errors, enforcement variations, etc.

Duty Requirement

Requires the physical ability to exert in excess of 35 pounds of force frequently. Requires the physical ability to sit for periods of time and drive university vehicles. Requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Employee is exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. Task requires the mental ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow written instructions and information, and to receive, comprehend and follow oral instructions and information. Provide guidance and customer service to Ball State University faculty, staff, and students by informing them of parking and transportation regulations and options. Acquire and maintain knowledge of Ball State University policies, procedures, rules and regulations as they pertain to Parking Services and Public Safety operations; follow written departmental policies and procedures; attend periodic training as it relates to this position.
