Plans Reviewer I
The City-County Planning Commission of Warren County, located in the third largest city in Kentucky and one of the fastest growing communities in Kentucky, is now accepting resumes for the position of Plans Reviewer I.
Purpose of Position:
The successful candidate will be a critical team member that provides staff support to the business operations of the Planning Commission. This position requires the ability and initiative to gain a general knowledge of subdivision and zoning regulations. An excellent attention to detail along with good organization, written and oral communication, and public relation skills is also required.
The successful candidate must be able to provide exceptional customer service and is expected to perform duties including, but not limited to:
- Review of subdivision plats for zoning and subdivision compliance for recordation;
- Review of building permits for zoning and subdivision compliance;
- Assist in inspection of subdivision street and drainage construction;
- Assist patrons and answer inquiries about the permit and subdivision processes;
- Assist with site compliance checks and zoning compliance cases;
- Assist with zoning sign notification process;
- Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education: This position requires a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with experience OR an Associate’s OR Bachelor’s Degree with experience preferred.
Experience: No experience is required, one year of experience or internship in a related field is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge: Required or willing to learn and apply the following:
- Ability to understand and interpret site development plans, construction plans & permits, and subdivision plats.
- Plan and permit review software, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
- General knowledge of state and local planning laws.
- Basic computer functions including Microsoft Office software.
Starting Salary Range: $38,000 to $42,000 annually, DOQ. The benefit package includes: pre-paid employee health and dental premiums, state retirement plan, twelve paid holidays, (PTO) paid time off.
