Communications Specialist

is seeking a Communications Specialist
(Andalusia service area)

Applicants wishing to apply should meet the following minimum requirements:

Must have a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or other communication-related degree from a four-year college or university, with one (1) year related experience. Must have a valid state driver's license. Must be able to communicate well enough to handle difficult conversations, discussions, or situations in person or over the phone. Must be able to prioritize, work without close supervision and handle confidential information. Must be proficient in InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office suite. Must have strong work ethic, positive attitude, and organizational skills; be able to speak in public and strong critical thinking skills. Must be proficient in prioritizing assigns, projects, and managing multiple projects. Assist with design and production of CEC's local pages for Alabama Living and other cooperative publications; must be able to design, create, and produce quarterly and/or monthly digital employee newsletter; design and coordinate the production of bill inserts, flyers, brochures, digital advertising, etc. Assist with marketing duties including heat pump rebates, H2) water heater program, energy efficiency loan paperwork, etc., promote and market all products and services provided through CEC. Must be able to write press releases for co-op events and public service announcements; develop content, write scripts, and produce short videos relating to services provided by the co-op and/or Buzz Broadband. Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays in emergency situations. Must be willing to participate in special training programs/classes as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
