Veterans Services Officer

The Department of Veterans’ Services for the Barnstable District is currently seeking a full time candidate to join our team to fill the entry level position of Veterans Services Officer on or after July 1, 2024. The Veterans Services Officer (VSO) performs a variety of duties primarily assisting veterans and their dependents in obtaining Federal, State and Town veteran’s benefits. To be eligible, applicants must be honorably discharged veterans of the United States armed services as defined by M.G.L. Chapter 115 and Title 10 United States Code. Mandatory certification exams will be required within the first 6 months of employment, as well as a CORI and drug screening. The District reserves the right to run additional background checks as allowed under Massachusetts General Law. Attention to detail and strong administrative, verbal, writing and computer skills required. Valid driver’s license and vehicle required as our VSO’s may be assigned to work anywhere at any time Cape-wide between Wareham and Provincetown.
