The DePaul University Speech Language Pathology Program is seeking applications for the position of Associate Director of Clinical Education, starting July 1, 2024. This presents an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic leader in speech language pathology to make a significant impact on the program, college, university, community, and the broader field. We are looking for candidates with a strong clinical background who are eager to work in a stimulating academic environment and capable of overseeing the clinical education programming and practica of graduate students. This role is a non-tenure-track assistant or associate clinical professor position with a 12-month appointment. The program is located at the Lincoln Park campus in the heart of Chicago.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a profound commitment to and enthusiasm for advancing our program's mission. Key responsibilities will involve overseeing all facets of graduate clinical education programming to adhere to CAA standards, working closely with the program director. Additionally, duties will encompass teaching, mentoring, advising, clinical supervision, service, and contributing to program development. Prior leadership experience as a clinical education director is strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Licensure, or eligible for licensure, from the State of Illinois
  • Experience supervising students in a clinical setting 

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Doctorate Degree in Speech Language Pathology or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Director of Clinical Education
  • College or graduate level teaching experience
