SUMMARY:
Experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on electrical controls with PLC and HMI, to join our engineering team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining packaging machine solutions to enhance our customers' manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design electrical controls with PLC and HMIs, and ensure seamless integration with electrical systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for electrical controls engineering including hardware and software designs utilized with packaging machines and industrial process systems.
- Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs and control systems for standard and custom packaging systems used in the food and consumer products industries.
- Coordinate electrical and control requirements with equipment mechanical design.
- Ensure electrical equipment and designs meet required standards, such as NEC, IEC, NEMA, UL508A, CSA.
- Technical writing skills for control system operations and maintenance.
- Works with service department and customer to conduct in-house factory acceptance testing, and generally provides service department with controls and electrical system support both in-house and at project sites as needed.
- Coordinate with the production and QC departments to refine and improve work.
- Meet defined schedules, deadlines, and goals.
- Provide support for on-site start-ups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferable Electrical, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC programming software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to efficiently learn new PLC and HMI software platforms.
- Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and adapt quickly to time-sensitive needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Must be able to work onsite.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Clean office environment.
- Periodic exposure to factory environment containing dust, machine noise and welding equipment.
- Periodic standing and walking.
