Job Summary

Oversees the operations of the Wolfe University Center (WUC) and supports other facilities within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs at the Biscayne Bay Campus. Manages, plans, and coordinates activities associated with the physical, environmental, and security conditions of the WUC. Secures services to meet departmental needs for physical aspects of daily operations, maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction.
  • Oversees the activities pertaining to the physical, environmental, and security conditions of the Wolfe University Center and supports other facilities within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. Secures services to meet departmental needs for physical aspects of daily operations, maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction.
  • Analyzes Wolfe University Centers building conditions, assigns building management resources, prepares reports, and set goals for progress.
  • Directly hires, trains, and leads a team of admin/staff professionals, ranging from custodial to maintenance and event support staff. Prepares and approves employee schedules, payroll, and evaluation processes. Provides ongoing support and professional development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees daily preventative maintenance work. Performs periodic inspections of all work assigned throughout the facilities. Monitors record keeping of assigned internal and external work orders as to completion times and materials used for each job assignment.
  • Assists with developing and implementing all risk management plans and training for the facilities. Ensures all facilities follow State and Federal statutes, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Reviews and assists leadership in the development and execution of construction plans.
  • Performs essential duties during any emergencies, i.e., hurricanes, floods, fires, pandemics, and other university emergency closings. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts with service providers. Assists in developing and managing assigned budgets, including short- and long-term capital replacement plans.
  • Leads event services, including setup/breakdown, client management, and event execution.
  • Serves as a university card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to university credit card policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a backup for Graham Center facilities operations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field and four (4) years of relevant experience or a Master's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Departmental Requirements
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience and Operations Management experience.
  • Knowledge of Event Management System and knowledge of Social Tables.
  • Proficiency in work order and inventory software.
