Line Technician
Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative is accepting applications for the position of Line Technician working out of the Southport, FL office.
Applicants must have a Class A CDL and a minimum of five years Line Tech experience. Must have the ability to maintain a security clearance to enter government facilities.
Job Summary
Follows and promotes safety in the organization. Assists with the Utility privatization contract at Tyndall Air Force Base, as needed. Line Technicians will perform maintenance and construction functions on energized single phase and three electrical lines, substation work, as well as construction/repair in the water distribution system. Installs, tests, sets up, rearranges or removes switching, distribution, routing or other equipment in the electrical/water distribution system. Line Technicians will be responsible to maintain the systems to ensure functionality and limit faulty responses. Employee may be called in to work at any time. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Related Experience
Must have completed a recognized Apprentice Line Technician Certification Program. Preferred: Working knowledge or experience with electric/water distribution systems. Previous experience working on a line crew preferred. Line Technicians must have the ability to perform major line duties, including pole construction and working with overhead and underground electrical and water lines.
