The Organized Community Action Program, Inc. will be accepting "Request for Proposals" for meals sponsored through the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program. An average of 520 meals per unit are served to childcare participants in the Head Start Program at ten (9) center locations in Alabama: Brundidge, Enterprise, Evergreen, Greenville, Luverne, Monroeville, Ozark, Troy, and Union Springs. Meals are served 165-180 days, Monday-Friday beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2020, with an option to renew for an additional four years. Summer break will be in June and July. A school calendar will be provided with contract to coordinate holidays.
Meals must be the following U. S. Department of Agriculture standards:
Breakfast: Milk – one serving
Bread - one serving
Fruit/Vegetable - one serving
Lunch: Milk – one serving
Bread – one serving
Fruit/Vegetable – two servings
Meat – one serving
Snacks: Milk – one serving
Bread – one serving
Fruit/Vegetable – one serving
Contractors must have a licensed dietician on staff to coordinate meals for children with dietary concerns. Menus must be provided at the beginning of each month. Delivery schedules for meals must be coordinated with the Center Directors to ensure the meals meat the Serve Safe requirements. Production records must be available for review by USDA upon request.
Proposals are subject to applicable laws and regulations for federal funding. OCAP is a non-discriminatory agency and welcomes minority vendors. OCAP reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
