Position: Professional Specialist in the Afghanistan Policy Lab **Deadline Extended**

Description: The Full-Time Specialist in the Afghanistan Policy Lab at Princeton School of Public and International Affairs will be responsible for providing research, analysis, and strategic support to advance the mission and objectives of the Lab. The fellow will work closely with the Lab's director and fellows to design policy research projects, and policy briefs that address pressing challenges in Afghanistan. The fellow will also be responsible for conducting research, writing reports and articles, and presenting findings to diverse audiences. Duties and Responsibilities: *Work closely with the Lab director and other fellows to identify research areas and design research projects that contribute to advancing the Lab's mission and objectives. *Conduct project/policy research on Afghanistan, including analyzing data, conducting interviews, and synthesizing information from a variety of sources. *Produce high-quality reports, articles, and policy briefs based on research findings, and present findings to diverse audiences, including policymakers, academics, and practitioners. *Contribute to the development of new research proposals and design of panel discussions and roundtables. *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant policy issues and trends related to Afghanistan and the region, especially on gender issues and civic space in the region. *Contribute to writing the weekly news bulletin for the Lab. *Attend Lab meetings at Princeton University, seminars, workshops, and other events, and actively participate in Lab discussions and debates on Princeton's campus. Qualifications: *The Specialist is required to be available in person at SPIA and have work authorization in the US *Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as international relations, public policy, political science, Economics, or a related discipline, with a preferred work experience of 7-10 years. *Demonstrated experience in policy research, analysis, and writing, with a focus on Afghanistan and the region, specifically on gender issues and civic space in Afghanistan. *Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information from a variety of sources. *Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences. *Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. *The candidate should not be the beneficiary of a fellowship or scholarship in the last one year. Supervision: The Full-Time Specialist will report to the Lab director and work closely with other fellows, faculty, and staff of the SPIA. Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Duration: This is a full-time position and will be for the period of one year.
