Overview

The Krienen lab in the Princeton Neuroscience Institute (krienenlab.org) is seeking a senior research specialist. Research in the lab focuses on understanding molecular underpinnings of brain cell type diversity and the genetic influences that shape the development and evolution of the mammalian brain, with focus on human and nonhuman primates. In this position, the scientist will contribute to several funded collaborative projects aimed at (1) developing novel cell type specific viral (AAV-based) tools in nonhuman primate models and (2) producing single cell genomic (RNA-seq and ATAC-seq) datasets to understand epigenetic and transcriptomic properties of brain cell types.

The Senior Research Specialist is expected to oversee technicians as well as to carry out independent research. The ideal applicant will have a background in molecular biology, genomics, or molecular neuroscience, strong programming abilities, and a keen interest in the lab's research. Prior expertise with single cell genomics, cell culture, or next generation sequencing is advantageous.

This is a one-year term position with the possibility of renewal based on funding and satisfactory performance
