Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Storekeeper II in University Dining Services.
Primary Job Duties: Under general supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment. Receives, inspects and verifies shipments for compliance with delivery documents and purchase order specifications. Process receiving documents. Tags, labels or marks for identification all supplies, materials, and equipment received. Fills store requisitions for issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. Routes and/or delivers supplies, materials, and equipment to designated locations. Ensures inventory levels by conducting physical inventory off supplies, materials, and equipment. Leads daily operations and trains subordinate personnel. Determines work priorities, plans, schedules, assigns, and reviews work. Prepares routine logs, forms, or tally sheets of daily operations. Implements procedures for maintaining departmental storage facilities in an orderly manner.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and 2 years related work experience. Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Serve Safe Food Handler Certification required within 3 months of hire.
General knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment. Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment. Ability to perform basic mathematics; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to follow directions; to provide guidance and instruction to others; to operate computers and other standard office equipment; to use automated food production system to enter inventory amounts: to establish and maintain effective work relationships; to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
The position is a full-time, non-exempt State position with full benefits. Starting pay will be $16.30 per hour which is approximately $33,288.00 annually with a 2.5% increase after a satisfactory six-month probationary period for new hires and internal promotions. The regular hours for this position are 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. This position is considered Essential Personnel and is therefore expected to report to work in emergency situations such as extreme weather conditions when the campus may be closed.
