Seattle civil defense litigation firm has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney in its downtown office to handle sex abuse litigation matters. Admission to practice in Washington is required with admission to Oregon as a plus. Our firm's expertise is diverse, but we focus on the areas of complex product liability, first-party coverage, and cannabis litigation. We approach litigation as a team, offering a level of customer service, flexibility and responsiveness not often found in larger firms. All in all, the Seattle office is a family who looks out for each other, takes the time to train its new employees and looks forward to a long future of working together. Many of our employees have been with us for 15+ years.

This is an active position that requires case management skills, precision in legal writing, a professional demeanor at depositions and court hearings and a high likely hood of trial. Candidates must be hard-working, motivated, have a positive attitude and capable of independent work. Candidate must also have excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills, must possess the ability to think on their feet and respond strategically, and have a client focused mentality.

Position responsibilities include:

* Review, analyze, and draft discovery requests.
* Conduct depositions.
* Prepare and argue motions.
* Trial preparation and support.
* Investigate facts.
* Attend court hearings and trials.
* Maintain accurate time records.

Candidate Requirements:

* Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
* Minimum of 2 years litigation experience.
* Admitted to practice in Washington.
* Experience with motion practice and depositions.
* Insurance coverage and bad faith experience preferred.
* Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions preferred.
* Capable of independent work.
* Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner and multi-task.
* Superior research and writing skills.
* Ability to analyze complex matters.
