Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst IT is responsible for supporting the university operations by managing computer system activities and processes in the Information Technology Department.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
1. Analyzes content, security, and structural needs for ERP systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Human Capital Management, or Finance.
2. Evaluates and test new or modified software programs and development. Coordinate quality assurance initiatives and processes for new software releases and upgrades. Document changes and test scripts as required.
3. Collaborates with TCU departments as assigned to analyze and develop queries needed by administrative and academic offices.
4. Monitors, documents, and analyzes administrative systems performance norms and problems. Work with Information Technology and functional staff to isolate and identify root causes and solutions.
5. Documents functionality and maintain information on internally developed applications and customizations as required.
6. Supports the functional analysis and security authorization role of assigned functional departments such as the Post Office, MBA, and Graduate Programs.
7. Provides technical support, functional analysis and relationship management to departments on various SaaS and Cloud products such as Terra Dotta, CollegeNet, EnrollmentRx, Technolution Slate, Maxient, Jaggaer, and Concur.
8. Audits and analyzes Cloud/SaaS software systems by performing tasks such as auditing security access controls, account management, data classification, reviewing existing and new contracts for appropriate language, maintaining documentation related to systems.
9. Defines project requirement by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements.
10. Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
11. Develops reports in currently supported reporting tools such as BI Publisher and Tableau.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years' experience in Information Technology in a large or enterprise environment.
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Experience in Higher Education
• Experience with PeopleSoft

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Knowledge of various IT functions (networking, server and software systems, security, hardware, etc.), hardware and software, and desire to keep knowledge up to date.
• Knowledge of fundamental and complex SQL and ERP reporting concepts.
• Knowledge of current reporting and visualization tools.
• Skill in department specific software.
• Ability to analyze and identify problems and issues with existing and new applications.
• Ability to facilitate communication among departments, build trust and develop relationships.
• Ability to gain familiarity with enterprise applications in order to document, evaluate and make appropriate decisions related to those applications.
• Ability to develop test scripts based on desired application functionality
• Ability to work with external departments, analyze their needs and requirements and produce a functional specification that meets their business objectives and also takes into consideration development and security constraints.
• Ability to evaluate software functionality and implement desired functionality with minimal input from management.
• Ability to instruct end-users on system capabilities
• Ability and aptitude to learn academic operations and support the academic mission.
