Water Foreman

The Longmeadow Department of Public Works is seeking a FT Water Foreman: 40 hours per week. Position provides supervisory, technical and administrative functions for the Water and Sewer Department.  Responsibilities include supervising, assigning and evaluating the work of department employees, overseeing the daily operation of the facilities insuring for proper water quality and sewer effluent, ensuring for adherence to safety precautions and performing a variety of administrative and technical functions.

Successful candidate must have:

• Knowledge in all phases of water supply station and wastewater station operations; occupational safety precautions; and pertinent laws, rules and regulations governing facility operations.
• Ability to plan and prioritize workload and assign and evaluate the work of others; ensure for the safety of workers; and operate and maintain equipment.
• Skill in supervising subordinates; laboratory procedures; diagnosis and resolution of problems; computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel); and software (i.e. Munis and Badger Read Center)

A candidate for this position should have a High School diploma or equivalent, and at least four (4) years of responsible experience as an operator or supervisor at a water supply facility.  A candidate for this position is required to have a valid Grade D3 and T1 Drinking Water Supply Facility Operator’s License.

• Salary $23.27 per hour DOE/DOQ
