* Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher
* Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds
* Must be able to work in tight places for extended periods of time
* Must be able to distinguish wiring colors
* Must be able to traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time.
* Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Shift
Monday-Friday (40 hrs/wk)
8:00am-5:00pm
Occasional overtime as needed
Required to be in the on-call rotation
Job Summary
The ITS Electronic Tech Specialist will serve as a senior team member for inside and outside cable plant maintenance and support. This position should have knowledge and experience with:
Internal Employee Being Considered
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Experience with fiber optic fusion splicers, Fluke cable testers, test and termination tools for copper and fiber optic cabling. Experience installing Uninterruptible Power Supply systems.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No
Preferred Education/Experience
BICSI Installer or equivalent OJT, training, or experience. Previous experience installing and troubleshooting structured cabling and installation of network and voice equipment.
Driver's license preferred.
