Job Description

The Missouri Prevention Science Institute is recruiting for a full-time research associate to assist with the management of data across many large-scale community-, agency-, and school-based studies of social, emotional, behavioral, and educational development of youth, adults, and families.

Responsibilities:
The person filling this position will be responsible for assisting with overall data management under the supervision of the Director of Data Strategy. The primary responsibility will be to implement effective data management practices for all projects occurring in the Missouri Prevention Science Institute. The key responsibilities include:
• Assist with all aspects of data management including documentation, cleaning, reporting, aggregation, and dissemination.
• Supervise, assist, and train graduate assistants who are completing data management tasks.
• Advise full time project coordinators in best data collection and data management practices, and ensure compliance with all data regulations and requirements.
• Monitor all aspects of IRB application and compliance.
• Attend regular project planning meetings
• Prepare research reports, conference presentations, dashboards, and other dissemination activities related to center research activities.
• Other duties as assigned by Principal Investigators or Director of Data Strategy.

Qualifications

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a master's degree in psychology, education, public policy or a related field. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in working with diverse educational groups on outreach or research.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following:
Professional skills and experience:
• Experience with educational and behavioral research methods.
• Experience with strategic data management, specifically in maintaining the integrity and security of research study data.
• Experience with manipulation and analysis of large datasets.
• Proficiency with a statistical programming language (preferably R).
• Comfortable using basic Excel functions.
• Familiarity with and interest in reproducible research concepts.
• Preferred but not required: Experience with Qualtrics survey platform and Tableau software.
Interpersonal qualifications:
• Acute attention to detail and extremely organized.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative.
• Resilient and takes ownership of projects (fixes mistakes when they are made).
• Ability to work independently, actively seek support and assistance when needed.
• Conscientious, drive to produce the best work.
