 The Department of Health and Human Sciences at the University of Montevallo invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track, Open-rank position in the area of exercise science beginning Fall 2024. This is a full-time, tenure track position. The successful candidate will teach courses in both the graduate and undergraduate Exercise and Nutrition Science programs. The successful candidate is expected to participate in academic advising; direct graduate student theses; serve on committees; establish an independent line of research and publish in scholarly journals; be active in professional organizations related to the exercise science discipline; actively recruit undergraduate and graduate students to the program; and provide service to the department, college, university, and community. Salary commensurate with experience.
 
Essential Job Duties
Teaching responsibilities are split between undergraduate and graduate education. The requirements are to teach four courses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester. There will be opportunity to teach in summer semesters. Potential teaching opportunities may include, but are not restricted to: Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Physiology, Statistics, Biomechanics, Introduction to Exercise Science, Exercise Testing.
 
Education and Experience
The position requires a doctoral degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, or closely related field. ABD will be considered providing the completion of the doctoral degree is by August 2024. Additional required qualifications include, emerging research agenda, strong communication skills, a substantive commitment and demonstrated contributions towards diversity, equity, and inclusion. CSCS required.
