The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology is seeking to hire a postdoctoral associate. The postdoc will be under the supervisor of Dr. Hua Zhang to learn how to establish new immunocompetent mouse models for lung cancer and utilize them to study the therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of the novel combinations of targeted therapy with immunotherapy. The postdoc will also be provided with opportunities to present at national and international conferences. The postdoc will also be well-support for career development grant writing and opportunities. We seek applicants who are self-motivated and career-oriented to join an exciting and highly interactive research team. Candidates with a Ph.D. or M.D. in medicine, biological science, and research experience in areas related to cell, or molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry. The Zhang lab develops the most advanced mouse models for lung cancer immunotherapy. The main research focuses of Zhang’s lab are:
1. establishing new immunocompetent mouse models for lung cancer and utilizing them to study the therapeutic efficacy and mechanisms of a novel combination of targeted therapy with immunotherapy
2. identifying new therapeutic vulnerabilities to overcome drug resistance in lung cancer
3. characterizing the organ-specific tumor immune contexture to develop immunotherapeutic strategies.
