WGVU CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY SPONSORSHIPS OFFICER
Develop relationships with corporations and community partners to provide sponsorships for WGVU Public Media programming, events, initiatives, and operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major corporate, community, and foundation donors to increase private gifts to WGVU Public Media.
- Work collaboratively across departments to develop sponsorship opportunities for program and event development.
- Develop and manage significant portfolio and pipeline of corporate, foundation and community prospects.
- Actively engage in working to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with corporate, community, and foundation sectors.
- Meet with prospective and current corporate, foundation, and community donors to secure sponsorships, and/or coordinate meetings for the stations General Manager or Director of Development.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with current and prospective donors and co-workers across WGVU.
- Participates in the drafting of case statements, talking points and other materials required for events, programs, campaigns, and projects.
- Participates in the creation of proposals, grant applications, and reports to corporations and foundations.
- Works closely with WGVU philanthropy team, marketing, education, and content creation teams.
- Ability to identify a diverse donor prospect pool.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in nonprofit fund development/sales/event management, or a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and event sponsorship techniques.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with various computer software applications such as Microsoft Office and/or equivalent. (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Salesforce, Monday.com, and Teams, etc.)
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
- Experience coordinating large projects.
- Experience handling multiple demands efficiently.
- Experience organizing and prioritizing workload.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ability to maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships and a commitment to multicultural awareness and understanding.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
Salary: $45,000 - $52,000
